Mukesh Kumar IPL 2027 Stats: Wickets, Price, Team
When Delhi Capitals paid ₹5.5 crore for an uncapped seamer from Bihar in the 2023 auction, plenty of fans had to look him up. Three seasons later, the Mukesh Kumar IPL stats page reads like a proper growth story: a quiet 7 wicket debut year, a breakout 2024 season with 17 wickets at 21.65 that made him DC’s joint highest wicket taker, and a 2025 mega auction where Delhi used their Right to Match card to bring him back for ₹8 crore. The right arm medium fast bowler has built his game on seam movement up front and yorkers at the death, and his 4 for 33 against Lucknow Super Giants in 2025 remains his finest IPL spell.
This page covers Mukesh Kumar’s complete IPL record: season by season bowling and batting numbers, his auction price history from ₹5.5 crore to ₹8 crore, career totals across 42 matches, and his confirmed team and price status for IPL 2027.

Who Is Mukesh Kumar?
Mukesh Kumar is an Indian right arm seamer born on 12 October 1993 in Gopalganj, Bihar. Raised in Kolkata, he came through the Cricket Association of Bengal setup and represents Bengal in domestic cricket, where he has taken more than 230 first class wickets at an average under 22.
His international career moved fast in 2023. Mukesh made his Test, ODI and T20I debuts for India on the tour of the West Indies that July, becoming a rare modern player to be capped in all three formats on a single tour. He was also part of India’s gold medal winning squad at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. By September 2026 he had 26 international caps and 32 wickets for India, and Nottinghamshire signed him for the final two County Championship fixtures of the 2026 season, his first domestic stint outside India. Delhi Capitals have kept him as a core part of their pace attack since his IPL debut in 2023, and you can read more on his Delhi Capitals official profile.

Alongside DC’s other Indian seamers like Khaleel Ahmed, he has formed the domestic core of the Capitals’ pace attack under captain Axar Patel.
Mukesh Kumar IPL 2024 Stats
| Bowling | Mat | Overs | Runs | Wkts | BBI | Avg | Econ | SR | 3w | 5w |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 10 | 35.3 | 368 | 17 | 3/14 | 21.65 | 10.37 | 12.53 | 3 | 0 |
The 2024 season was Mukesh Kumar’s breakthrough. Seventeen wickets in ten matches made him the joint highest wicket taker for Delhi Capitals alongside Khaleel Ahmed, and his strike rate of 12.53 was among the best for any Indian seamer that year. Three separate three wicket hauls showed he could run through lineups in bursts, and his 3 for 14 against Gujarat Titans was the standout spell. The economy rate of 10.37 tells the other side of the story: he attacked for wickets rather than containing, a trade his team was happy to make.
Mukesh Kumar IPL 2025 Stats
| Bowling | Mat | Overs | Runs | Wkts | BBI | Avg | Econ | SR | 4w | 5w |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 12 | 39.3 | 408 | 12 | 4/33 | 34.00 | 10.33 | 19.75 | 1 | 0 |
Playing twelve matches in 2025, Mukesh took 12 wickets, the third most for Delhi Capitals that season. The headline moment was his career best 4 for 33 against Lucknow Super Giants, his first four wicket haul in the IPL. Beyond that spell, it was a mixed campaign. He managed only three wickets in the power play despite bowling most of his overs there, and death overs proved expensive. The talent was visible in flashes, but the consistency of 2024 did not return.
Mukesh Kumar IPL 2026 Stats
| Bowling | Mat | Overs | Runs | Wkts | BBI | Avg | Econ | SR | 3w | 5w |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | 10 | 31.2 | 353 | 6 | 2/26 | 58.83 | 11.27 | 31.33 | 0 | 0 |
The 2026 season was Mukesh Kumar’s toughest in the IPL. Six wickets in ten matches at an average of 58.83 and an economy of 11.27 saw him move in and out of the playing XI as DC searched for the right bowling balance. His best figures of 2 for 26 came against Mumbai Indians, but he could not control the scoring rate on batting friendly surfaces and was left out for the season’s final game against Kolkata Knight Riders on a tactical call.

Mukesh Kumar IPL Highest Score
Mukesh Kumar’s IPL highest score is 6 not out, made against Punjab Kings in his debut season of 2023. As a specialist bowler who bats at the tail, his chances at the crease are rare, and he did not bat in either 2025 or 2026. There is no meaningful batting record to report beyond that.
Mukesh Kumar IPL Wickets and Best Bowling
Mukesh Kumar’s best bowling in the IPL is 4 for 33 against Lucknow Super Giants in 2025, his only four wicket haul in the league. His next best spell is 3 for 14 against Gujarat Titans in 2024, part of a season in which he claimed three separate three wicket hauls. Across 42 IPL matches he has taken 42 wickets at an average of 34.64 and an economy of 10.59, and he is still chasing his first five wicket haul.

His price has risen from ₹5.5 crore to ₹8 crore over his career. For more on how RTM worked at the mega auction, read the IPL 2027 mini auction vs mega auction explainer.

Mukesh Kumar’s IPL Performance Analysis
The numbers trace a clear arc. In 2023, Mukesh was a rookie learning the league: 7 wickets at 46.57, used sparingly but trusted enough to play all ten games. The leap in 2024 was dramatic. Seventeen wickets at 21.65 with a strike rate of 12.53 shows a bowler who did not just bowl, he hunted wickets, and the three three wicket hauls back that up. His economy stayed above 10 in every season, which tells you this is an attacking bowler rather than a containing one: DC accepted the runs because the wickets kept coming.
The concern is the trend since. His average and economy both drifted the wrong way in 2025 (34.00, 10.33) and 2026 (58.83, 11.27), and the 2026 season cost him his guaranteed place in the XI. Reports from 2025 noted how little he troubled batters with the new ball and how costly he was at the death, two phases where a specialist seamer has to deliver. The 4 for 33 against Lucknow shows the ceiling is real, but his next IPL chapter depends on finding the 2024 rhythm again rather than the 2026 one. For now, his verified career line stands at 42 wickets in 42 matches at 34.64, with best figures of 4 for 33.
