Corbin Bosch IPL stats tell the story of a late bloomer who reached the league the hard way. The South African all-rounder first entered the IPL in 2022 as a net bowler with Rajasthan Royals, waited three years for his debut, and finally broke through with Mumbai Indians in 2025 as an injury replacement. His second season in 2026 was the real breakthrough: 12 wickets in just six matches, including career-best figures of 4 for 26 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. At 32, Bosch has become one of the more reliable middle and death overs options in the MI squad, and his journey from replacement signing to retained player is one of the more interesting recent IPL stories.
Corbin Bosch is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who bats right-handed in the lower middle order. He is the son of former South Africa cricketer Tertius Bosch and was the Man of the Match in the final of the 2014 Under-19 World Cup, which South Africa won. He made his Test debut for South Africa on Boxing Day 2024 against Pakistan, becoming the first South African to take a four-wicket haul and score a fifty on Test debut. Before the IPL, he was a key part of MI Cape Town’s SA20 title win in early 2025, taking 11 wickets in eight games.

Who Is Corbin Bosch?
Corbin Bosch was born on 10 September 1994 in Durban, South Africa. He comes from a cricket family: his father Tertius Bosch played for South Africa, and his brother Eathan is also a professional cricketer. Corbin first made his name as a teenager, starring in South Africa’s 2014 Under-19 World Cup triumph with a Man of the Match performance in the final.
For years he was a domestic workhorse rather than a headline name, turning out for the Titans, Tshwane Spartans, Paarl Royals and Barbados Royals in franchise cricket. His international breakthrough came late: an ODI debut against Pakistan in December 2024, followed days later by a dream Test debut at Centurion, where his four-wicket haul and fifty made South African history. He was also called into South Africa’s Champions Trophy squad as a replacement for the injured Anrich Nortje.
In T20 cricket, Bosch’s value lies in his two-way utility. He hits the deck hard with the ball, bowls accurate yorkers at the death, and can clear the ropes from number seven or eight. That combination is exactly what Mumbai Indians bought into when they signed him mid-season in 2025.
Corbin Bosch IPL Teams

|---|---|---|
| 2022 | Rajasthan Royals | Replacement signing, no matches played |
| 2023 | – | Went unsold at the auction |

Bosch’s IPL story has two distinct chapters. In 2022, Rajasthan Royals brought him in as a net bowler and then signed him as an injury replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile at his base price of Rs 20 lakh, but he never got a game. He went unsold at the 2023 auction and at the 2025 mega auction (base price Rs 30 lakh). His real chance came on 8 March 2025, when Mumbai Indians signed him as a replacement for the injured Lizaad Williams at Rs 75 lakh. Impressed by his debut season, MI retained him ahead of the 2026 season at the same price of Rs 75 lakh, and he repaid that faith with 12 wickets in six games.

He smashed 20 not out off just 10 balls with two fours and a six, then took 1 for 26 from his four overs as Mumbai won by 54 runs. His strike rate of nearly 147 across the season showed his finishing ability, while his economy of 7.86 was respectable for a bowler used in the middle and death overs. Notably, choosing the IPL over the Pakistan Super League, where Peshawar Zalmi had drafted him, led to a one-year PSL ban, a sign of how much he valued the MI opportunity.

His batting also improved, with 50 runs at a strike rate above 161, including a highest score of 32. Corbin Bosch IPL Highest Score
Corbin Bosch’s highest IPL score is 32, made for Mumbai Indians during the 2026 season. In his debut season in 2025, his best was 27, which came in one of his three appearances that year. As a lower-order hitter rather than a top-order batter, his value with the bat lies in quick cameos: his career IPL strike rate of 153.97, built on innings like his unbeaten 20 off 10 balls on debut against Lucknow Super Giants, shows he can finish innings at pace.
Corbin Bosch IPL Wickets and Best Bowling
Bosch has taken 13 IPL wickets in nine matches at an average of 19.23. His best bowling figures are 4 for 26, recorded for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2026 season. That spell was the highlight of a breakout year with the ball, in which he took 12 wickets in six matches. On his IPL debut in 2025, he took 1 for 26 against Lucknow Super Giants, the only wicket of his first season, before his role expanded significantly in 2026.

Corbin Bosch’s IPL Performance Analysis
The numbers trace a clear upward curve. In 2025, Bosch was a bit-part player: three matches, one wicket, and a batting strike rate that hinted at finishing ability without a large enough sample to judge. In 2026, everything scaled up. His bowling average dropped from 55.00 to 16.25, his strike rate with the bat climbed above 161, and his 4 for 26 against RCB showed he could win phases of a game against top opposition.
His role at Mumbai is well defined. With Hardik Pandya leading the side and Jasprit Bumrah heading the attack, Bosch slots in as the third seam-bowling all-rounder, offering the captain overs in the middle phase and at the death. He also arrived with ready-made franchise chemistry, having played alongside Ryan Rickelton in MI Cape Town’s SA20 title run, and he shares the South African pace group with Gerald Coetzee while competing with Trent Boult for new-ball and death-overs responsibility. The main question is opportunity: in 2026 he was widely seen as underused, and his 2027 value will depend on whether Mumbai give him the extended run his second-season numbers suggest he deserves.
