Prince Choudhary is one of the IPL’s quieter stories. The Delhi leg-spinner was picked up by Punjab Kings at the 2024 auction for his base price of ₹20 lakh, yet he did not play a single match in his first season and was released before the 2025 mega auction. His IPL stat sheet is still blank, which makes his profile different from most player pages on this site: there are no season averages to dissect, only the journey so far and what comes next.
For readers searching Prince Choudhary IPL stats, the honest answer is that his professional career has so far played out in age-group and domestic cricket, where his record is genuinely impressive. A nine-wicket haul in a DDCA league game once made him the talk of Delhi cricket, and he carried that form into the Under-19 and Under-23 setups. This page covers his verified IPL history, his domestic background, and where he stands ahead of the IPL 2027 auction.

Who Is Prince Choudhary?
Prince Choudhary was born on 29 September 1999 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and represents Delhi in domestic cricket. He is a right-arm leg-spinner who bowls the legbreak googly and bats right-handed in the lower order. Profiles list him as a bowler, and spin has always been his calling card.
His cricket journey nearly ended before it began. After four years without age-group cricket, he considered quitting the game entirely, but his mother, a school teacher, asked him to give it one more year. He stopped going to cricket academies where he had been repeatedly rejected and worked on his control with his uncle and coach, Kesar Chaudhary. The breakthrough came in a DDCA league match, where he took nine wickets in a single game, with six batsmen bowled and three trapped leg before wicket. That performance earned him a place in the Delhi Under-19 side, where he picked up 32 wickets across formats in a season, including strong returns in the Cooch Behar Trophy. A five-wicket haul for the Under-23 team against Baroda followed, and he was scouted by Punjab Kings from the NCR region ahead of the 2024 auction. He names Anil Kumble as his idol and follows Rashid Khan closely.

Choudhary’s IPL story so far is a single chapter. PBKS picked him at the December 2023 auction in Dubai, and head coach Trevor Bayliss confirmed at the time that the franchise had targeted him as an uncapped young Indian bowler. He spent the 2024 season in the squad under Shikhar Dhawan‘s captaincy but never made the playing XI, with PBKS preferring established options such as Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel and fellow leg-spinner Rahul Chahar. Released under the retention rules before the 2025 mega auction, he has not been confirmed back in the league since.

Prince Choudhary’s IPL Performance Analysis
There is no IPL performance to analyse, so the honest assessment has to live in the gap between his domestic promise and his league reality. PBKS saw enough in his legbreak googly to spend on him, and their coaching staff named him among their targeted young Indian bowlers. But franchises in the IPL are unforgiving with uncapped spinners: with proven international bowlers ahead of him, Choudhary never got the one game that might have changed his trajectory. His release before the 2025 mega auction was not a verdict on talent, it was the standard franchise reset before a mega auction, where squads are torn down and rebuilt.
The trend worth watching is simple. Leg-spinners who get a long IPL rope tend to be picked young and backed through quiet seasons. Choudhary got neither a debut nor a second season at PBKS, which means any return now depends on impressing scouts again in domestic cricket and making the 2027 auction shortlist. His age is on his side: born in 1999, he has several auction cycles left if his domestic form holds.
