Brydon Carse IPL Stats tell an unusual story: two full seasons on Sunrisers Hyderabad’s books and not a single ball bowled in anger. The England quick was one of the most talked-about overseas signings of the IPL 2025 mega auction, picked up by SRH for ₹1 crore, but a toe injury ended his debut season before it began. He stayed with Hyderabad for IPL 2026, only to damage his hand in the nets before the very first game and spend another season watching from the dugout. Carse is yet to make his IPL debut.
For SRH, the Carse signing was easy to understand. At 6 ft 3 in with a hit-the-deck style and speeds that regularly touch 146 km/h, he offered genuine pace and bounce, plus some useful lower-order hitting. England trusted him with the new ball at Test level, where he took 58 wickets in 14 Tests and produced a best of 6/42. That profile should have suited Hyderabad’s seam-heavy plans, but injury kept him out of both campaigns he was signed for.
This page tracks Brydon Carse’s complete IPL record: his verified profile, season-by-season teams and prices, auction history, and his IPL 2027 status. With the 2027 season not yet underway, his retention and price for the new campaign are not officially confirmed.

Who Is Brydon Carse?
Brydon Alexander Carse was born on 31 July 1995 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He plays international cricket for England, having qualified through his British ancestry, and has represented Durham in county cricket since signing a development contract in 2016. His father, James Carse, was a Zimbabwean first-class cricketer who played county cricket for Northamptonshire.
Carse is a 6 ft 3 in right-arm fast bowler who regularly clocks around 146 km/h. He made his England ODI debut against Pakistan in July 2021, taking a five-wicket haul in his third match, and his Test debut against Pakistan in October 2024. Across formats for England he has taken 58 wickets in 14 Tests (best 6/42), 34 wickets in 30 ODIs (best 5/61) and 20 wickets in 14 T20Is (best 3/23). He was part of England’s 2023 ODI World Cup squad as an injury replacement and finished the 2025-26 Ashes in Australia as England’s leading wicket-taker with 22 wickets.
Domestically he plays for Durham and has also turned out for the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred. His combination of genuine pace, bounce from a tall frame and a bit of lower-order power made him an attractive overseas option in the IPL auction.

Brydon Carse IPL Records and Achievements
Carse has no IPL records or achievements to his name yet, since he has never played an IPL match. His achievements come at international level: finishing as England’s leading wicket-taker in the 2025-26 Ashes with 22 wickets, a ten-wicket Test match haul against New Zealand, and an ODI five-for against Pakistan on debut series.
Brydon Carse’s IPL Performance Analysis
There is no on-field IPL performance to analyse, which is itself the story. Sunrisers Hyderabad saw in Carse exactly what England value: a tall, hit-the-deck fast bowler who can touch 146 km/h and trouble batters with bounce, and who can chip in with late-order runs. Twice he has been part of Hyderabad’s plans, and twice his body has failed before the first game. The toe injury that ruled him out of IPL 2025 also cost him the Champions Trophy, and the hand injury in the nets before IPL 2026 was cruel luck rather than anything in his bowling action.
From SRH’s perspective, the numbers show faith: they paid ₹1 crore for him at the 2025 mega auction and kept him on for the second season despite a lost year, even as their pace stocks were stretched by other injuries around Mohammed Shami and Harshal Patel. For Carse, everything now depends on fitness. If he stays healthy into 2027, whether with SRH or another franchise, the league will finally see what an English pace spearhead with a Test five-for and an Ashes-leading 22-wicket series can do with the white ball in Indian conditions.
