Suyash Prabhudessai is one of those IPL stories that begins long before the big contract. A right-handed batter from Goa, he forced his way into Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s plans on the back of heavy domestic scoring, and his very first IPL innings told you everything about his temperament: 34 off 18 balls against Chennai Super Kings on debut, plus a direct-hit run out of Moeen Ali that went viral among RCB fans. This page brings together the Suyash Prabhudessai IPL stats in full — his season-by-season numbers, auction and retention history, and what the future holds ahead of the IPL 2027 mini-auction.
Across his IPL career to date, Prabhudessai has played 11 matches and scored 126 runs at an average of 12.60 and a strike rate of 118.87, with a highest score of 34. Those numbers only tell part of the story. RCB kept him on their books for three straight seasons (2022 to 2024) at INR 30 lakh a year, a sign of how highly the franchise rated his domestic form and his fearless approach in the middle order. He went unsold at the November 2024 mega auction and did not feature in the 2025 or 2026 seasons, which makes the IPL 2027 auction cycle — a mini-auction scheduled for 16 December 2026 in Goa — his next realistic route back into the league.

Who Is Suyash Prabhudessai?
Suyash S Prabhudessai was born on 6 December 1997 in Goa and has represented his home state in domestic cricket since 2016. A right-handed middle-order batter who also bowls right-arm medium in domestic cricket, he built his reputation the hard way: years of consistent scoring for Goa across the Ranji Trophy, the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Two domestic milestones explain why IPL scouts paid attention. In 2022 he became the first Goa player to score a double century in the Ranji Trophy, finishing with a top score of 212. The following year he was Goa’s highest run-scorer in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Compact, busy at the crease and an outstanding fielder, he fitted the profile of the modern domestic finisher — comfortable against spin, willing to improvise, and electric in the field.
Despite his domestic record, he has not yet been capped by India at senior level. His IPL career so far has been entirely with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the franchise that first signed him in February 2021 and kept him through the 2024 season.

Prabhudessai’s entire IPL journey has been tied to one franchise. RCB bought him in the February 2021 auction — he did not get a game that season — then bought him again at the 2022 mega auction for INR 30 lakh. He debuted that April in a star-studded RCB side and spent three seasons in a dressing room that included Virat Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis, learning his trade alongside fellow domestic batters such as Anuj Rawat and Mahipal Lomror. RCB retained him at INR 30 lakh for both 2023 and 2024, but he played only one match in 2024. Ahead of the 2025 mega auction the franchise released him, and no team bid for him at the auction despite his base price of INR 30 lakh.

Prabhudessai’s only appearance of the 2024 season came against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in April — and it was his last IPL match to date. Coming in during a chase, he made 24 off 18 balls with three boundaries at a strike rate of 133.33. It was a neat, busy innings in the only style he knows: he rotated strike early and found the boundary when the field spread. One match is no sample size, but the cameo was a reminder that his game had not gone anywhere. RCB’s settled middle order simply left no room for him that season.

Prabhudessai did not play in IPL 2025. Released by RCB ahead of the November 2024 mega auction, he registered at a base price of INR 30 lakh but went unsold — no franchise placed a bid. With the mega auction resetting squads across the league, the domestic middle-order market was crowded, and teams spent their purse on bigger names. He spent the year in domestic cricket instead, continuing to turn out for Goa.

Prabhudessai was not part of any IPL squad in the 2026 season. His IPL numbers therefore stand exactly where they were after the 2024 season: 11 matches and 126 runs. Whether he registered for the 2026 auction is not officially confirmed. His path back into the league now runs through the 2027 auction cycle.
Suyash Prabhudessai IPL 2027 Stats
IPL 2027 statistics are not available yet because the season has not started. The 2027 player auction is a mini-auction, scheduled for 16 December 2026 at ITC Grand Goa — a date the BCCI secretary confirmed to Hindustan Times, though franchises are still awaiting formal written confirmation. The deadline for teams to submit their retained and released player lists is 15 November 2026, which has not yet passed.
Prabhudessai’s 2027 team and price are not officially confirmed. He is currently without an IPL team and has no verified retention, signing or trade news. Given his domestic pedigree — a Ranji double-hundred and a season as Goa’s leading Vijay Hazare run-scorer — he is a plausible low-cost domestic batting option in the auction pool, but any team link would be speculation at this stage. Keep an eye on the IPL 2027 mini-auction page and the retention deadline guide for updates as squads take shape.

Suyash Prabhudessai IPL Highest Score
Prabhudessai’s highest IPL score is 34, and it came in the most memorable way possible — on his IPL debut, 12 April 2022, against Chennai Super Kings at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Walking in with RCB chasing 217, he struck 34 off 18 balls at a strike rate of 188.89 and shared a 60-run fifth-wicket stand with Shahbaz Ahmed before falling to Maheesh Theekshana. RCB lost the match by 23 runs, but the debutant had announced himself.
The same game showcased his other calling card: fielding. He ran out Moeen Ali with a direct hit and took an acrobatic catch of Robin Uthappa that was called back for a no-ball — moments that were widely praised in commentary and on social media. For a debutant to make that kind of impression in the field on day one explained a lot about why RCB had kept faith with him.
Suyash Prabhudessai IPL Batting Records
Honest assessment first: Prabhudessai’s IPL record contains no fifties, no hundreds and no batting records in the conventional sense — 126 runs in 11 matches is a modest return. His genuine achievements sit at the edges of the numbers. He is the owner of one of the more striking debut innings in recent RCB history: 34 off 18 on debut against CSK, still his highest IPL score.
His most replayed IPL moment came in 2023, when RCB used him as an Impact Player against CSK. Facing Matheesha Pathirana bowling at 146.3 kph, he played a famous reverse-ramp six and finished on 19 off 11 balls — his best score of that season. It was a glimpse of the audacity that marks his domestic game. His real records belong to domestic cricket: Goa’s first Ranji Trophy double century (212) and Goa’s top run-scorer in the 2023 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Suyash Prabhudessai’s IPL Performance Analysis
The numbers are blunt: 126 runs in 11 IPL matches at an average of 12.60. But the shape of the career matters more than the total. Prabhudessai’s 2022 season — 67 runs in five matches with a strike rate of 113.56 — was built around a single bright innings, the debut 34. His 2023 season was thinner (35 runs in five matches, average 8.75) but contained his best strike-rate season, 120.69, and the Pathirana reverse-ramp moment that showed his range against genuine pace.
Two patterns stand out. First, the strike rate climbed every season he played: 113.56, then 120.69, then 133.33 in his lone 2024 outing. The intent was never the problem — he scores at close to 119 across his IPL career despite batting low in the order in most of his games. Second, his fielding has always outshone his batting at IPL level: 10 catches in 11 matches is an elite rate and reflects the energy he brings when the ball is not in his hands.
The honest reading is that Prabhudessai was signed as a domestic finisher and used as a squad player in a top-heavy RCB line-up, so his sample size stayed tiny. The 2024 cameo (24 off 18 at Eden Gardens) hinted the batting had matured, but it was also his final IPL appearance. Whether he gets another chance depends on the 2027 mini-auction — and on franchises weighing his modest IPL record against a domestic résumé that keeps growing.
