Tom Kohler-Cadmore IPL stats tell the story of a three-match cameo. The English wicketkeeper-batter was Rajasthan Royals’ base-price pick at the IPL 2024 auction, bought for Rs 40 lakh, and spent most of the season on the bench before getting his chance at the top of the order when Jos Buttler flew home for England duty. Three innings brought 48 runs at a strike rate of 88.89, with a highest score of 20.
Those numbers never reflected the player English county crowds knew. Kohler-Cadmore arrived in India as one of the most destructive white-ball hitters on the English domestic circuit, a man with a 54-ball 127 in the T20 Blast and a Vitality Blast winners’ medal with Somerset. But the IPL moves fast, and three quiet innings were all he got. Released by the Royals ahead of the 2025 mega auction, he went unsold and has not played in the league since.

Who Is Tom Kohler-Cadmore?
Tom Kohler-Cadmore was born on 19 August 1994 in Chatham, Kent. A right-handed wicketkeeper-batter who bowls occasional off-spin, he came through the Yorkshire age-group system before finishing his schooling at Malvern College, where he was named the 2014 Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year. He made his professional debut for Worcestershire in August 2013.
His breakthrough moment came on 20 May 2016, when, aged 21, he smashed 127 from 54 balls for Worcestershire against Durham in the T20 Blast — still the highest individual T20 score by a Worcestershire player. He moved to Yorkshire in 2017 and then to Somerset ahead of the 2023 season, where he became a central figure in their white-ball side. In his debut Somerset summer he scored 489 runs in 17 games as the club lifted the 2023 Vitality Blast, taking a spectacular diving catch in the final against Essex to seal the trophy.
Beyond England he built a full freelance T20 career: Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL, Sharjah Warriorz in the ILT20, Welsh Fire in The Hundred, and back-to-back Abu Dhabi T10 titles with Deccan Gladiators, where he stands as the league’s leading run-scorer. He has represented England Lions but has not played senior international cricket.

Kohler-Cadmore’s entire IPL career belongs to one franchise and one season. Rajasthan Royals picked him up in the dying hours of the IPL 2024 auction at his base price of Rs 40 lakh — officially a like-for-like squad option for Jos Buttler. When Buttler departed for England’s T20 World Cup preparations in May 2024, Kohler-Cadmore walked straight into the XI as opener. The Royals released him before the IPL 2025 mega auction, no franchise bid for him there, and he has not been part of an IPL squad since.

Three innings, three single-figure-to-twenty scores. He debuted on 15 May 2024 against Punjab Kings in Guwahati with 18 from 23 balls, opening alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. His best came in the Eliminator against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Ahmedabad — 20 from 15 balls with four fours — and he finished with 10 from 16 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2. The strike rate of 88.89 tells its own story: a hitter who normally strikes near 140 in T20 cricket never found any rhythm. Official IPL records list four appearances for the season; he batted in three completed innings.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore IPL 2027 Team and Price
As of October 2026, neither Kohler-Cadmore’s IPL 2027 team nor his price has been officially confirmed. He has not been part of an IPL squad since Rajasthan Royals released him after the 2024 season, so any return in 2027 would have to come through the auction. His only confirmed IPL transaction remains the Rs 40 lakh base-price purchase by Rajasthan Royals at the 2024 auction.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore IPL Highest Score
His highest IPL score is 20, made from 15 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2024 Eliminator in Ahmedabad on 22 May 2024. Chasing RCB’s total with Rajasthan’s season on the line, he struck four fours before falling — a brisk start that ultimately wasn’t enough to build on. His other two innings were 18 against Punjab Kings on debut and 10 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore IPL Batting Records
Three innings leave no room for records. Kohler-Cadmore has no IPL fifties or hundreds, and his 48 career runs are the fewest of any overseas batter to open for Rajasthan Royals in a season. His genuine batting records sit outside the IPL: the 54-ball 127 for Worcestershire against Durham in 2016, still a club T20 record, and his standing as the Abu Dhabi T10’s leading run-scorer.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s IPL Performance Analysis
There is no trend to trace across seasons — just three innings to judge. What stands out is the gap between reputation and output. A career T20 strike rate near 140 became 88.89 in the IPL, and a hitter famous for clearing the ropes managed one six in 54 balls. Opening in high-pressure May games — a debut, an Eliminator, a Qualifier — is the hardest possible introduction, and he never looked settled.
The franchises rendered their verdict quickly. Released after one season and unsold at the 2025 mega auction, he became a reminder of how thin the margin is for overseas specialists: with only four foreign slots, teams rarely carry a second keeper-batter who needs time to adapt. A return would demand a dominant franchise-league season to force his name back into auction conversations. For now, his IPL story reads as a footnote — a base-price gamble that didn’t come off.
