Aaron Hardie’s IPL 2027 stats tell an unusual story. The Australian all-rounder arrived at the IPL 2025 mega auction with a strong reputation from the Big Bash League and the Australian national team, and Punjab Kings paid Rs 1.25 crore for him. Yet he spent the entire season on the bench without playing a single game. This page covers his full IPL record, his auction price history, and what his unconfirmed status means for IPL 2027.
Hardie’s case is a useful reminder that IPL value is not decided by talent alone. Punjab Kings reached the IPL 2025 final with a settled combination, and the overseas slots filled up before the 27-year-old seam-bowling all-rounder got his chance. The franchise then released him ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction, so his career IPL figures still read zero matches, zero runs, and zero wickets.
For IPL 2027, everything about Hardie remains open. The season has not started, no team has confirmed him, and no price has been attached to his name. This article explains his confirmed history and separates verified facts from the unknown.

Who Is Aaron Hardie?
Aaron Mark Hardie was born on 7 January 1999 and plays as a seam-bowling all-rounder for Australia. He bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium-fast, and he has spent most of his domestic career with Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.
Hardie first drew serious attention in the 2021-22 Sheffield Shield final, where his unbeaten 174 carried Western Australia to the title. The following season he finished as the highest run-scorer of the 2022-23 BBL, which marked him out as one of Australia’s most complete young T20 all-rounders. A county stint with Surrey in 2022 and a run with the Texas Super Kings in Major League Cricket in 2024 added to his franchise experience.
His international career began in August and September 2023, when he made his T20I debut against South Africa on 30 August and his ODI debut against the same opposition on 9 September. He has since been part of Australia’s white-ball squads, including the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, although he has often had to wait behind established names for a regular place.
Aaron Hardie IPL Teams
| Season | Team | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | – | Not part of the IPL |
| 2025 | Punjab Kings | Squad member; played 0 matches |
| 2026 | – | Released by Punjab Kings on 15 November 2025; no confirmed purchase at the December 2025 mini auction |
| 2027 | – | Not confirmed; auction pending |
Hardie’s IPL journey began and, for now, ended with Punjab Kings. He was bought at the IPL 2025 mega auction, stayed in the squad for the full season without a single appearance, and was then let go as part of the franchise’s reset ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction. He joins a list of Australian players who have found that an IPL contract does not guarantee a debut.
Aaron Hardie IPL 2024 Stats
Aaron Hardie was not part of the IPL in 2024. He played no matches, scored no runs, and took no wickets. His association with the league began only at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Aaron Hardie IPL 2025 Stats
Aaron Hardie played zero matches for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. He scored no runs and took no wickets because he never got onto the field in a competitive game.
The numbers, or lack of them, tell the story of a selection squeeze. Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab had Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell as its established overseas all-rounders, while Marco Jansen and Azmatullah Omarzai covered the seam-bowling all-rounder slots. Hardie was available in the squad for the playoff push in May 2025, but the management preferred its settled combination as the team reached the final.
Aaron Hardie IPL 2026 Stats
Aaron Hardie has zero IPL 2026 matches on record. Punjab Kings released him on 15 November 2025, along with Glenn Maxwell, Kuldeep Sen, and Vishnu Vinod, and there is no verified report of him being bought by any franchise at the December 2025 mini auction in Abu Dhabi.
With Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh heading the bowling unit and Mitchell Owen joining the overseas contingent, Punjab chose to move on from its benched all-rounder rather than carry him for another season.
Aaron Hardie IPL 2027 Stats
IPL 2027 statistics are not available yet because the season has not started. Hardie has no confirmed IPL 2027 team, and no auction price has been recorded for him for the 2027 season. His career IPL record therefore remains zero matches, zero runs, and zero wickets.
His most likely route back into the league is the IPL 2027 auction, where franchises will decide whether his Australian and BBL form outweighs the fact that he has never played an IPL game. Details of the IPL 2027 auction date, venue and time will set the timeline for that decision.
Aaron Hardie IPL 2027 Team and Price
Neither Aaron Hardie’s IPL 2027 team nor his IPL 2027 price is confirmed. The season has not started, and the IPL 2027 retention deadline and purse rules will determine which franchises have room for an overseas all-rounder like him. Until the auction takes place, any team or price attached to his name would be speculation.
Aaron Hardie IPL Career Batting Stats
Hardie is yet to make his IPL debut, so there are no career IPL batting figures to report. His record stands at zero matches played.

The 2026 row carries a dash for team because his purchase at the December 2025 mini auction is not officially confirmed. The 2025 row reflects a full season in the Punjab Kings squad with no playing time.
Aaron Hardie IPL Highest Score
Aaron Hardie has no IPL highest score because he has never batted in an IPL match. His highest score in T20 cricket outside the IPL is 90 not out, and he will need a debut season before the IPL list gets an entry.

Aaron Hardie’s IPL Performance Analysis
There is no IPL performance to analyse in the usual sense, because Hardie’s on-field output in the league is zero. What the numbers do show is how difficult the overseas all-rounder slot is to crack at a successful franchise. Punjab Kings bought him as cover for their big-name imports, and once Marcus Stoinis and Josh Inglis settled into the combination, the bench became a season-long address.
His release was a cold business call rather than a verdict on his ability. Punjab needed to free overseas slots and trim the wage bill after reaching the final, and a player who had not featured was the natural first cut. The pattern is common in the IPL: franchises pay for depth, then release the depth when it never gets used.
For IPL 2027, Hardie’s case rests entirely on his non-IPL record. His 2022-23 BBL season as the tournament’s top scorer, his Sheffield Shield pedigree, and his place in Australia’s white-ball squads all argue that he is ready for the league. The counter-argument is that he went a whole IPL season without convincing one coaching staff. The auction will decide which view wins.
