Mayank Dagar IPL 2027 Stats: Wickets, Price, Team
Mayank Dagar waited five years for his IPL debut. Kings XI Punjab bought him as a highly rated left-arm spinner in the 2018 auction, yet he never played a match for them, and it took a Rs 1.80 crore move to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2023 before he finally bowled in the league. That long wait is the defining thread of the Mayank Dagar IPL stats story: a bowler whose steady domestic record for Himachal Pradesh kept franchises interested even while the league’s scorebooks barely noticed him. Eight matches, two wickets and best figures of 1/23 are the honest numbers so far.
This page brings together his complete IPL record: his 2023 debut season with Sunrisers Hyderabad, the 2024 trade that took him to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, his five games in RCB colours, his full auction and retention history, and where he stands ahead of IPL 2027.

Who Is Mayank Dagar?
Mayank Dagar was born on 11 November 1996 in Delhi and plays his domestic cricket for Himachal Pradesh. He is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler who bats right-handed, the classic modern T20 spin-bowling package: tight lines, subtle variations and a willingness to bowl in the middle overs.
Dagar came through the Himachal Pradesh system, debuting in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the 2015-16 season and in first-class cricket in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. His T20 debut for the state came on 29 January 2017 against Services. His early promise earned him a place in India’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup, and his consistent domestic form soon had IPL franchises watching. Kings XI Punjab picked him up in the 2018 auction on the back of that reputation, though he never got on the field for them.
Mayank Dagar IPL Teams
| Season | Team | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | Kings XI Punjab | Squad member, did not play |
| 2023 | Sunrisers Hyderabad | 3 matches (IPL debut) |
| 2024 | Royal Challengers Bengaluru | 5 matches (traded in) |
| 2025 | No franchise | Released by RCB; went unsold at the mega auction |
| 2026 | No franchise | Did not play |
| 2027 | To be confirmed | Season not started; auction yet to be held |
Dagar’s IPL journey has been shaped more by auctions and trades than by match time. After five years on the periphery following his 2018 purchase, Sunrisers Hyderabad paid Rs 1.80 crore for him at the 2023 auction and gave him his debut on 21 April 2023 against Chennai Super Kings, in an SRH side featuring players like Rahul Tripathi. Ahead of the 2024 season he moved to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a straight trade for all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed, one of that year’s notable deals. RCB released him before the 2025 mega auction, he went unsold, and he has had no IPL franchise since.

The 2024 season gave Dagar his longest IPL run: five matches for RCB in a squad built around Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal. Virat Kohli personally presented him with his RCB debut cap before the season opener, a memorable start. But the numbers were unforgiving: one wicket in 11.5 overs at an economy of 10.43, with his final outing coming against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur in April 2024, where he went wicketless for 34 in four overs. He held three catches, yet the bowling figures explain why RCB did not keep him.
Mayank Dagar IPL 2025 Stats
Mayank Dagar did not play in IPL 2025. Released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the mega auction, he entered the auction pool and went unsold, so he has no IPL 2025 statistics. He continued to play domestic cricket for Himachal Pradesh instead.
Mayank Dagar IPL 2026 Stats
Dagar had no IPL franchise through the 2026 season and did not play a match, so he has no IPL 2026 statistics. His career figures remain exactly as they were after the 2024 season: 8 matches and 2 wickets.
Mayank Dagar IPL 2027 Stats
IPL 2027 statistics are not available yet because the season has not started. The IPL 2027 auction has not been held at the time of writing, and no 2027 matches have been played, so there are no season figures to report. Any 2027 numbers that appear once the season begins will be labelled as stats so far and kept separate from his career totals.
Mayank Dagar IPL 2027 Team and Price
Mayank Dagar is currently without an IPL franchise. RCB released him before the 2025 mega auction, he went unsold there, and he sat out the 2026 season entirely, so his IPL 2027 team and price are not officially confirmed. His realistic route back into the league is through the IPL 2027 auction pool, where his domestic left-arm spin record gives him a case, though at 29 he will need a strong domestic season to get franchises bidding again. Keep track of the IPL 2027 retention deadline, rules and purse and the IPL 2027 auction date and venue for when his status becomes clear.

Mayank Dagar IPL Records and Achievements
With only eight IPL matches behind him, Dagar’s list of league achievements is short, and it would be wrong to dress it up. The verifiable landmarks are: selection for India’s 2016 Under-19 World Cup squad on the back of his domestic form; his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad on 21 April 2023 against Chennai Super Kings after a five-year wait; the 2024 trade to RCB in exchange for Shahbaz Ahmed; and receiving his RCB debut cap from Virat Kohli before the 2024 opener. There are no IPL awards, titles or major records on his sheet.
Mayank Dagar’s IPL Performance Analysis
The numbers tell a consistent story. Across two seasons Dagar bowled only 22.5 overs in eight matches, which means franchises never trusted him with a regular spell. His economy moved the wrong way, from a respectable 7.55 in 2023 to 10.43 in 2024, and with just two wickets to show, the wicket-taking threat that justifies a spinner’s place never materialised. RCB’s decision to release him before the 2025 mega auction, followed by every franchise passing on him at the auction and a full season out of the league in 2026, shows how the market read those figures.
None of this erases why he was bought in the first place: left-arm orthodox spin with control is a scarce, valued skill, and his domestic record for Himachal Pradesh is what earned him three franchise contracts. The gap between his domestic reliability and his IPL output is the whole puzzle of his career. For an IPL recall, likely via the IPL 2027 auction, he needs the one thing his league record lacks: a domestic season where the wickets column does the talking.
